Coir Substrates
Coir or Coco peat is an organic renewable
resource that is commonly used as a
growing media or soilless substrate for
horticultural applications.
Coir is derived from the external husk of a coconut, and in simple terms it’s the pith inside the husk that is extracted and blended with coir fibre and or coco husk chips to make a suitable growing media
To ensure stability and longevity, the material used in our blends and mixes are properly aged before processing
After aging, materials are washed and or buffered to ensure that a product with the correct pH and EC levels are supplied to our customers
Our aim is to supply substrates that are consistent and both physically and chemically stable to ensure optimum conditions for root development
The coir that we supply has been has been produced in a sustainable and responsible way, adhering to prescribed environmental and social standards
A major benefit of coir is that it can be used on its own or blended with other growing mediums for use in hydroponic systemsWe offer crop specific product ranges, with a variety of blends to suite each grower’s conditions and needs
